MAKE THE LIQUID
GO WHERE IT MUST.

The supplied TDS defines the series as wetting and interfacial-tension modifiers for construction chemicals, natural-stone slab processing, epoxy coatings and dry-mix formulations.

Good wetting means faster capillary entry, better particle hydration, improved substrate coverage and fewer surface defects. The correct chemistry depends on whether the challenge is dry-powder wet-out, waterborne leveling, low-foam PCE compatibility, micro-fissure penetration or 100% solids epoxy flow.

LOWER CONTACT ANGLE.
ACCELERATE SPREAD.

Wetting agents reduce liquid surface/interfacial tension so the formulation can spread across high-energy or difficult low-energy surfaces, enter micro-pores and displace trapped air more efficiently.

Contact angle on hydrophobic surface

Contact Angle = A Practical Wetting Indicator

Lower contact angle means greater spreading. The TDS uses dynamic contact-angle reduction on polished granite to compare silicone, fluorosilicone and fluorosurfactant behavior.

THREE ROUTES TO BETTER WETTING

1 · Surface-Tension Reduction

Lower liquid surface tension to improve initial spread across concrete, stone, mortar or coating substrates.

2 · Capillary Penetration

Low interfacial tension promotes spontaneous resin draw into dense stone micro-fissures before cure.

3 · Dynamic Leveling

Silicone and fluorosilicone chemistries reduce surface-tension gradients that can produce craters, crawling or orange peel.

Dry-Mix Wet-Out

Powder wetting technology activates with gauging water to hydrate RDP/HPMC systems more quickly and reduce clumping.

Technical questions

FAQ

Practical wetting-agent guidance aligned to the uploaded TDS.

What does a wetting agent do in construction formulations?
It lowers liquid surface or interfacial tension so water, resin or coating spreads more rapidly across particles or substrates and can penetrate smaller pores or fissures.
Which grade gives the lowest surface tension in this series?
Wet-Fluoro. The TDS lists an equilibrium surface tension of 16.0–18.5 mN/m.
Which grade is intended for waterborne primers and coatings?
Wet-Sil 20, a 20% active polyether-siloxane emulsion with very high dynamic wetting speed on spray lines.
Which grade is most appropriate for dry mortar or self-leveling mortar?
Wet-Powder is specifically designed for cement, gypsum and dry-grout systems and is recommended at 0.05–0.20% of dry mix weight.
Which grade is used for PCE admixture and pigment dispersion?
Wet-EOPO, a nearly 100% active EO/PO block copolymer with ultra-low / defoaming tendency.
Which grade should be considered for natural-stone epoxy impregnation?
Wet-Fluoro is positioned for granite and marble converters because of its very low interfacial tension and rapid capillary penetration into micro-fissures.
Which grade is intended for 100% solids epoxy floors?
Wet-FSil, a fluoromodified polysiloxane designed for extreme wetting, crater suppression, low foam and rapid film spread.
Does lower surface tension always mean the best product?
No. The correct grade must also match the formulation chemistry, carrier, foam tolerance, substrate and required dynamic wetting speed.
When should Wet-Fluoro or Wet-FSil be added to stone epoxy?
The TDS directs formulators to add them into Part A epoxy resin before the hardener.
What storage conditions are specified?
Store between +5°C and +35°C in dry conditions. Wet-Sil 20 must be protected from freezing.
